Solent Achievements

Created new Employability and Enterprise Service by merging existing careers team with new enterprise team and refocussed efforts on enhancing student employment outcomes through curriculum change.

Rewrote knowledge exchange strategy to focus on comparative advantage in student enterprise and near-to-market income generation. Introduced new internal partnership model of resourcing. Four short KTPs (Knowledge Transfer Partnership) gained from a standing start.

Preparation for starting up companies embedded in the curriculum, pre-incubation and incubation space acquired linked to creative and cultural industries disciplines. Circa 40 students educated in first year (2011-2).

Member of UK Govt 'Review of Business- University Collaboration' (2012) led by Professor Sir Tim Wilson. Drafting of two chapters on graduate supply chain, skills and employability. See http://www.wilsonreview.co.uk/
